I’ve been using the HyperX Cloud III Wireless for gaming, and I genuinely like that headset.
- The battery life is ridiculous
- The audio is good
- & I used its microphone for about a year while creating content without any major complaints.
But there’s one problem.
The earcups push the arms of my glasses against the side of my head!
I’d been interested in trying IEMs for a long time because they seemed like they could eliminate that problem entirely.
Then my wife and kids got me the SIMGOT EW300s for my birthday.
After a few hours with them?
I get it!

TL;DR
The SIMGOT EW300s are already solving the biggest problem I wanted them to solve:
- Comfort
I wear glasses, and traditional gaming headsets eventually press the arms of my glasses into the side of my head. The EW300s don’t.
They’re lightweight, extremely comfortable, have more bass than my HyperX Cloud III Wireless, and the audio sounds incredibly clean.
My one question mark right now is directional audio in competitive FPS games.
After about an hour and a half playing The Finals, I had a few moments where I incorrectly judged where another player was coming from. I haven’t touched EQ or really dialed anything in yet, though, so I’m nowhere near ready to blame the IEMs.
For story-driven games?
These are already my go-to.

First Impressions: These Don’t Feel Like Cheap Earbuds
The EW300s cost around $80, so my expectations were actually pretty high.
At that price, especially without a microphone, I don’t want something that feels like a pair of earbuds I grabbed at a gas station.
Fortunately, they don’t.
They look and feel premium.
The set also comes with a case to keep everything together, which I appreciate because these are obviously a little different from throwing a wireless headset onto a stand when I’m finished.
You also get three sizes of ear tips.
I went straight for the medium tips, they fit comfortably, and I haven’t felt the need to change them yet.
If You Wear Glasses, This Part Is For You
This is already my favorite thing about the EW300s.
My glasses aren’t being smashed into my head anymore.
I’m not exaggerating when I say this was probably the biggest reason I wanted to try IEMs.
- There’s no giant earcup pressing against my glasses
- My ears aren’t getting hot
- There’s significantly less weight on my head.
And after roughly three hours of use so far, I haven’t had any soreness from the IEMs themselves.
They’re extremely comfortable.
If I had my HyperX Cloud III Wireless and my SIMGOT EW300 sitting beside each other right now (which I literally do) and knew I was about to play a story game for three hours?
I’m grabbing the SIMGOTs.
Comfort wins.

How Do the SIMGOT EW300s Actually Sound?
Really good.
The first thing I noticed was the bass.
There’s noticeably more of it than I’m used to with my HyperX headset.
But it doesn’t just sound louder.
The overall audio feels cleaner and clearer to me.
I’ve already played LEGO Batman with them, and they were great.
Music.
Dialogue.
Sound effects.
Everything sounded full without making me feel like I was losing clarity somewhere else.
For the types of games I tend to play, especially linear, story-driven games, I can already see myself using these a lot.

Competitive FPS Is Where I Have Questions
This is the one part of the review where I’m not completely sold yet.
I played about an hour and a half of The Finals with the EW300s.
And a few times I caught myself saying things like:
“I thought they were behind us.”
Or:
“I thought they were coming from the left.”
That’s something I don’t remember struggling with as much on my HyperX Cloud III Wireless.
But there is a giant asterisk here.
- I’ve owned these for two days
- I’ve played one FPS with them
- And I haven’t touched the EQ
I haven’t really experimented with my audio settings at all.
So I’m absolutely not saying the EW300s have bad directional audio.
I’m saying that during my first 90 minutes playing The Finals, I preferred the directional awareness I was getting from my HyperX headset.
Those are very different statements.
I want more time with them before I make that call.
- I’ll tweak some settings
- Play more competitive games
- & update this review when I actually have enough experience to form a stronger opinion.

Story Games Are a Different Story
This is where the EW300s are already winning me over.
I’m much less concerned about pinpointing the exact location of a footstep when I’m playing LEGO Batman or working through a big single-player game.
I want:
- Great dialogue
- Good music
- Strong bass
- Clear sound effects
- Comfort for several hours
So far, the EW300s check all of those boxes.
And because I naturally gravitate toward linear and story-driven games anyway, that’s a pretty big deal for me.
Yes, They’re Wired
I went from a wireless headset to wired IEMs.
I thought that might bother me more than it does.
Right now, I’m plugging the EW300s directly into my FIFINE AM8 PRO-T microphone, which I also just added to my setup.
I’ve got some cable management to figure out because suddenly I’ve added a dedicated microphone, boom arm, and wired headphones at basically the same time.
Once I get everything routed the way I want it?
I don’t think the wire is going to bother me.
It’s just different.
If being completely wireless is important to you, though, these obviously aren’t going to replace your wireless gaming headset.
Not Having a Microphone Doesn’t Matter to Me Anymore
This is something worth considering before buying IEMs for gaming.
The EW300 isn’t replacing your gaming headset and its microphone.
For me, that doesn’t matter anymore.
I just upgraded to the FIFINE AM8 PRO-T, so my audio input and output are now completely separate.
I actually like that.
I can choose the microphone I want.
Then I can choose whatever sounds best and feels most comfortable in my ears.
If you’re still relying on your headset microphone, though, switching to IEMs may mean adding another purchase to your setup.
That’s something I’d factor into the real cost.
Noise Isolation Is Good But It’s Not a Giant Gaming Headset
The isolation has been pretty good.
But my HyperX Cloud III Wireless still blocks more of the outside world.
That makes sense.
The HyperX is basically a pair of earmuffs wrapped around my ears.
The SIMGOTs aren’t.
I can still get immersed in what I’m playing, but if your number-one priority is blocking out everything happening around you, that’s something to consider.
Personally, I’ll take the comfort tradeoff.
What I Like After Three Hours
So far, the positives are pretty easy:
- Extremely lightweight
- Fantastic with glasses
- No hot ears
- Clear, clean audio
- Great bass
- Premium build quality
- Comfortable included ear tips
- Nice storage case
- No microphone doesn’t matter with my dedicated mic
The comfort alone is making a bigger difference than I expected.
Would I Recommend the SIMGOT EW300?
After three hours?
Yes… with a couple of conditions.
If you’re looking for comfortable gaming audio, especially because traditional headsets bother you or you wear glasses, I think they’re absolutely worth a look.
For around $80, they feel premium, sound excellent so far, and have already fixed the biggest comfort issue I was trying to solve.
I wouldn’t buy them if you specifically need:
- A built-in microphone
- Wireless headphones
And if competitive FPS gaming is your entire life, I want more time before I tell you to replace a headset you already love.
But for me?
If I’m sitting down tonight to play another few hours of a story-type game, I’m grabbing the SIMGOTs.
That probably tells you more than a spec sheet ever could.

I’ll Update This Review
I’ve only scratched the surface with these.
I still want to:
- Experiment with EQ.
- Play significantly more of The Finals.
- Test other shooters.
- Put some genuinely long gaming sessions on them.
- Figure out my new cable management.
- See how comfortable they are after weeks instead of hours.
So consider this Day 2.
My opinion could change.
But right now?
The SIMGOT EW300s are extremely comfortable, sound great, and are already making me question how often I’m going to reach for my traditional gaming headset.
That’s a pretty good start.
