I’ve been using a cheap Amazon ring light for almost two years. Nothing fancy. I think it was around $30. And you know what? It still works. The stand has definitely seen better days. It’s getting a little wobbly, and I wish I had more control over where I could position the light. But the actual reason I bought it (to make my webcam look better) hasn’t changed. Turn the ring light off and my OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite immediately
I’ve always liked LEGO, but I didn’t have a massive collection growing up. It was just one of those things I enjoyed whenever I got the chance. Then I had kids. We started buying sets for them, I eventually decided to pick one up for myself again, and somewhere along the way LEGO became one of my favorite ways to completely shut my brain off for a while. If I need a hard reset or just want to get away
I mentioned wanting this set a long time ago. The kids and I had started getting into anime together; we watched quite a bit of One Piece, and I thought the Going Merry would be a fun LEGO set for us to build. Plus… Pirate ships are awesome. That’s pretty much all the justification I needed. Apparently my family remembered, because the Going Merry showed up for my birthday! Some links in this article may be affiliate links, meaning I
I want to start this article differently because I wish someone had told me this when I started. “If you can’t afford a webcam yet, don’t buy a terrible one just so you can say you have one!” Start without it. People can still watch your gameplay You can still talk to chat You can still start building a community You can still make content Then make the webcam part of the journey That’s actually how I bought my Elgato
Every once in a while, I’ll start rearranging my setup. I’ll move my keyboard Shift my monitor Reorganize my cables And almost every time, I end up thinking the same thing. “I wish I had an L-shaped desk.” Not because they’re trendy. Not because they look cooler. Because I’m constantly running out of room. My Stream Deck Controller charger Phone charger Notebook Glasses Maybe a LEGO build or two It all ends up squeezed underneath my monitors. An L-shaped desk
RGB doesn’t make you better… It won’t increase your FPS. It won’t magically improve your aim. And it definitely won’t help you win more games. What it will do is completely change how your gaming setup feels. When I first started putting together my setup, it was just a desk with a computer on it. Now? Between the RGB keyboard, my PC fans, the Govee light bars behind my monitors, and the rest of the lighting in the room, it
When someone says “LEGO,” most people still picture kids sitting on the living room floor surrounded by colorful bricks. Then I built my first display set. Now I completely understand why adults get hooked. There’s something incredibly satisfying about spending a few evenings building something that ends up becoming part of your office, game room, or house. Out of everything I’ve built so far, The Office set is still my favorite. Every time I walk past it, I notice another
When I bought the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite, I wasn’t looking for the fanciest webcam on the market. I wanted something I could set up once, plug into OBS, and never have to think about again. Over a year later, after roughly 300 hours of streaming, recording videos, and creating content, that’s exactly what it’s been. No constant troubleshooting No fighting with settings before every stream No wondering why my camera suddenly looks terrible It just works. Some links in
Most gaming headsets sound great for about five minutes. Then real life happens. You play for three hours. Your glasses start digging into the side of your head. The battery dies halfway through a session. The microphone sounds like you’re calling from a submarine. Or the headset slowly turns your ears into a sauna. I’ve spent the last year gaming, streaming, recording content, editing videos, and spending way too much time wearing headphones. What I’ve learned is that the little
Buying gifts for gamers sounds easy until you actually have to do it. Then you realize there are twelve versions of the same controller, six different gaming platforms, and enough accessories on Amazon to make your head spin. I feel pretty confident in saying that most gamers are picky. Not because they’re difficult. But because they already spend a lot of time thinking about the stuff they use every day. So instead of filling this list with random products I’d
