There’s this weird balancing act when you’re trying to build something real, make money, and actually be a good person while doing it. On one hand, I want this business to grow. I want to turn ChannlerG into something huge. I want to make money doing what I love, build a community, help people, and prove that you don’t have to be fake to succeed.
On the other hand, I have a family to take care of, kids who are watching my every move, and a responsibility to actually practice what I preach.
I can’t just say I’m trying to be a positive influence. I have to actually be one for my kids, for my fiancé, for my friends, for the people who follow this brand, and for myself.

Balancing Business & Family: It’s Not Just About Time

A lot of people assume that balancing business and being a positive influence is about time management. Like, if you can just crack the code of having the perfect schedule, everything will magically fall into place.
That’s not how it works. At all.
For me, it’s not that I don’t have time for my family. I’m always there for my kids. I help them get ready, I do the morning routine, I’m present. But the hardest part?
Making sure I’m still a good parent when I’m exhausted.
When I’m tired from grinding all day, when my brain is fried from blogging, strategizing, and figuring out how to build this business, I catch myself parenting differently. Instead of using something as a teaching moment, I just say:
- “Stop doing that.”
- “Because I said so.”
- “Just listen to me.”
And I hate that.
Everyone remembers their parents pulling the “because I said so” card, and no one looks back on it like, “Wow, that was such a great parenting technique.”. So the hardest part isn’t finding time, it’s making sure that when I’m present, I’m actually present and giving my best, even when I’m worn out.
How I’m Growing the Business Without Being Fake

One of my biggest goals is to actually help people, not just sell them random junk to make a quick buck.
Everything I do here, the blogging, affiliate marketing, tournament hosting, real estate, content creation, it’s all about being real. I don’t want to recommend products I don’t use (unless you guys are aware I haven’t used them lol), I don’t want to push some “get rich quick” course, and I definitely don’t want to be another fake guru on the internet.
Right now, the biggest thing that’s working for me is organization.
- Getting systems in place.
- Setting up routines.
- Figuring out what works and what’s a waste of time.
Once I have that locked in, I can teach it to others, whether they’re gamers, content creators, entrepreneurs, or just people trying to build something cool. I’ve shared similar business-growth routines/opinions/strategies in my Think Like a Flipper post.
I use this Amazon LED Light Kit (affiliate link) for content creation behind the scenes.
The Pressure to Be Perfect (And Why It’s a Lie)
I think anyone who’s trying to build something great feels pressure to be better.
You feel like:
- You should be working harder.
- You should be more successful by now.
- You should be handling everything perfectly all the time.
And that’s BS.
The reality is, no one has this figured out. Even the biggest creators, business owners, and entrepreneurs are still learning and adjusting every day. I remind myself of that constantly, because if I get caught up in the perfection trap, I’ll never be happy with where I’m at, even if I’m killing it.
When I feel the pressure to be perfect, I revisit some books, my Reset & Rewire Roadmap, or unwind with some games in my favorite gaming chair. It’s a game changer.

What I Want You to Take From This
If you’re reading this, I want you to realize three things:
- You’re not the only one struggling with balance. Whether it’s family, business, gaming, or just trying to juggle life, everyone feels like they’re not doing enough sometimes.
- You can’t separate work & life as easily as people say. If you’re building something, it’s always going to bleed into other areas of your life. That’s not a bad thing. It just means you have to be intentional about how you let it affect you.
- The best thing you can do is keep improving. You don’t need to have it all figured out today. You just need to keep taking steps toward being better in business, in life, and for the people around you.
At the end of the day, that’s what I’m doing. That’s what ChannlerG is all about. (And that’s Why Building a Community is More Important Than Going Viral)
