What Is ChannlerG? (And Why I’m Building This in Public)

Fair question.

Because depending on when you found me, ChannlerG probably looks like one of the following:

  • Gaming page
  • Blog
  • Guy yelling at video games at weird hours
  • Some random mix of business, family, gaming, and self-inflicted chaos
  • Man with too many tabs open

Not entirely wrong.

But it’s also not the full picture.

ChannlerG started because I knew one thing:

I wanted to build something of my own.

Not because traditional jobs are evil.

Not because entrepreneurship is glamorous.

Definitely not because I thought this would be easy.

I just knew I wanted ownership.

Ownership over:

  • My time
  • My creativity
  • My future
  • What my kids see modeled
  • The possibility of building something that lasts

And once I started?

This became way bigger than “a gaming brand.”

So… What Is ChannlerG?

The easiest answer?

ChannlerG is me (Channler G) building the brand itself in public.

The messy version.

Not the polished influencer version where someone pretends they knew exactly what they were doing from Day 1.

The real version.

The:

  • Testing things
  • Learning things
  • Failing publicly
  • Overthinking everything
  • Accidentally figuring stuff out
  • Rebuilding when needed

version.

Gaming is part of it.

Business is part of it.

Content creation is part of it.

Family is part of it.

Personal growth is part of it.

Making money from hobbies?
Huge part of it.

At its core?

ChannlerG is about figuring out how to build a real brand without becoming fake in the process.

What Changed After I Started

When I first started?

I thought the formula was simple:

  • Make content.
  • Get views.
  • Make money.
  • Repeat.

Cute.

Reality had other plans.

What I’ve learned:

1. Growth Is Slower Than You Think

Everyone sees the highlight reel.

Nobody posts:

  • The quiet months
  • The low-view streams
  • The blog nobody read
  • The effort that looked invisible

That part is real.

2. Community Beats Random Attention

A viral post sounds cool.

A loyal audience matters more.

I’d rather have 500 people who care than 500,000 people who forget me tomorrow.

That took me a while to understand.

3. You Cannot Do Everything At Once

I tried.

Website.
SEO.
Streaming.
Editing.
Social media.
Affiliate marketing.
Brand strategy.
Analytics.
Life.

Absolutely terrible plan.

4. Progress Looks Boring Before It Looks Impressive

This might be the biggest lesson.

Most growth looks painfully unimpressive while it’s happening.

Until suddenly it doesn’t.

Wins So Far

Not fake wins.

Real ones.

1. Published 100+ Blogs

That alone still feels insane.

Some better than others.

A few definitely written by a more sleep-deprived version of me.

Still counts.

2. Social Growth

Not “overnight success” numbers.

But steady.

Which honestly matters more.

3. Learning How To Monetize

Affiliate marketing.
Traffic strategy.
Content structure.
SEO.

Still learning.

But progress is progress.

4. Building Something I Really Care About

This matters the most.

Because if I hated this?

None of the rest would be sustainable.

Reality Checks (AKA The Less Fun Part)

Let’s be honest.

This has also punched me in the face a few times.

1. Burnout Is Real

Turns out trying to do everything while obsessing over progress is… not ideal.

I wrote about it in Balance is a Myth (but here’s what helps)

2. Money Pressure Changes The Conversation

Working hard on something while the financial return doesn’t yet match the effort?

That messes with your head.

Fast.

That’s where thoughts show up like:

  • Is this selfish?
  • Should I just do something safer?
  • How long do I keep betting?

Those are real thoughts.

Pretending otherwise would be fake.

3. The Algorithm Isn’t Magic

Sometimes content works.

Sometimes it absolutely dies.

Sometimes you do everything “right” and nothing happens.

Welcome to the internet.

Words of wisdom: The Algorithm Isn’t the Enemy, Expectations Are

Who ChannlerG Is For

ChannlerG is for people who:

  • Want to build something of their own
  • Love gaming but think bigger than gaming
  • Are tired of fake internet personalities
  • Care about growth, business, mindset, family, or figuring life out
  • Like seeing the real version instead of the polished fake one

You do NOT have to be a gamer.

You do have to appreciate honest chaos.

Where This Is Going

This isn’t “just a blog.”

The long-term vision is bigger.

I’m building:

  • A media brand
  • Monetized content ecosystem
  • Affiliate revenue
  • Digital products
  • Community
  • Eventually bigger things

Maybe courses.
Maybe events.
Maybe things I haven’t even thought of yet.

That’s the fun part.

Maybe I’ll find some other ways to Make Money Gaming (without being a pro)

Why I’m Building This Publicly

Because I believe the middle part matters.

The part where:

  • You don’t have the receipts yet
  • The wins are smaller
  • The process is less glamorous

That’s the part most people skip showing.

I think that’s the most interesting part.

Because that’s where most of us actually live.

Final Thoughts

I care enough about what this could become to keep showing up.

And if you’re here reading this?

You’re part of that story now too.

Whether you stick around for:

  • Gaming
  • Business
  • Chaos
  • Lessons
  • Random thoughts
  • Watching me figure this out

Thank you for being here.
