When I started ChannlerG, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what it would become.
- A gaming website
- Maybe some tournaments
- Maybe some esports content
- Maybe some business content mixed in
The truth?
I had no clue.
After doing this for over a year, I think that’s normal.
Most things worth building don’t look the same at the beginning as they do a year later.
ChannlerG is a perfect example.
What ChannlerG Actually Became
At its core, ChannlerG is still built around gaming.
That hasn’t changed.
What has changed is my understanding of why I enjoy building it.
It turns out:
- I wasn’t interested in creating another gaming news website
- I wasn’t interested in chasing every trend
- And I definitely wasn’t interested in pretending to be something I’m not
What I enjoy is sharing the process.
- The wins
- The mistakes
- The reviews
- The lessons
- The things I’m learning while building this brand from scratch
That’s what this website became.

Gaming Is Still The Foundation
Gaming is the reason any of this exists.
- It’s what got me interested in content creation
- It’s what led me to streaming
- It’s what pushed me toward reviews, gear recommendations, and building a website in the first place
That’s why you’ll continue to see:
- Game reviews
- Gaming setups
- Gaming gear recommendations
- Gaming stories
- Family gaming content
Gaming isn’t leaving ChannlerG.
It’s just no longer the only thing here.

The Part I Didn’t Expect
What surprised me most was how often people connected with the personal side of the journey.
- The posts about growth
- The setbacks
- The frustrations
- The lessons learned
- The reality of trying to build something while also working, raising kids, maintaining relationships, and figuring life out
Those articles became just as important as the gaming content.
Maybe even more important.
Because those are the things people don’t talk about enough.

Building a BrandThat’s Bigger Than A Website
At some point, this stopped being a blog.
It became a project.
A challenge.
A long-term experiment.
Can you build something meaningful around the things you genuinely enjoy?
I don’t know yet.
But I’m enjoying finding out.
The website is simply where all of those experiments live.

What Success Looks Like To Me
A year ago, my answer would’ve been different.
Back then I probably would’ve talked about traffic numbers.
- Income goals.
- Followers.
- Subscribers.
Today?
Success looks a little different.
- It’s creating something I’m proud of
- Helping people occasionally
- Learning constantly
- And continuing to build without feeling like I have to pretend to be someone else
If those things eventually turn into a larger business, great.
But I don’t want to lose sight of the reason I started in the first place.

What’s Next
More of the same with slight tweaks here and there.
- More gaming
- More reviews
- More lessons learned
- More experiments
- More figuring things out as I go
Because the one thing I know for sure is that ChannlerG will probably continue evolving.
Just like I will.
And that’s the point.
Final Thoughts
For a long time, I thought I needed a perfect plan.
- A perfect niche
- A perfect roadmap
Now I think I just need to keep showing up.
ChannlerG isn’t a finished product.
It’s a work in progress.
And if you’ve been following along, supporting the site, reading the blogs, watching the streams, or simply checking in from time to time, thank you for being part of it.
We’re still building.
